Three Years in the Making: Today Is Jason’s Day

After three long years of waiting, hoping, and navigating more unknowns than we ever imagined, today marks a major milestone.

Jason is now in surgery. 💚

Earlier today, a kidney was harvested from a living donor and flown to Austin. ✈️ Now comes the part that requires the most patience, faith, and steady breaths.

This moment is filled with gratitude, nerves, and cautious hope. Anyone who has walked a medical journey like this knows how heavy this waiting can feel—when everything is in motion, yet completely out of your control.

We are deeply thankful for the donor, for DOVE Transplant - Living Kidney Donation for Veterans and their life-saving mission, for the medical teams involved, and for the family and friends who have carried Jason with love and encouragement every step of the way.

ABOUT JASON

Jason, who was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy at 31 years old, has spent his adult life serving others — his country, his family, and his community — all while managing years of dialysis and the daily challenges of kidney failure. Tanya’s gift represents a turning point in his long fight for health and hope.
