Cleared for Home: A Milestone Day for Tanya’s Recovery 💛🙏

Three heroes: Tanya, her surgeon, Dr. Arpali, and Gunnie

Today brought a wave of good news, emotional moments, and deep gratitude as Tanya continues her remarkable recovery after donating her kidney.

The morning began with her follow-up appointment, where her medical team confirmed that she’s recovering beautifully. In fact, she’s officially cleared to fly home tomorrow — with strict instructions not to lift a single piece of luggage. 😉

And then came tears of joy…

First, we learned that the recipient of Tanya’s kidney is doing well — news that brought instant relief and emotion to everyone in the room. Then came a beautiful gesture: a handwritten note and a box of fine chocolates, a heartfelt expression of gratitude and hope.

It was a powerful reminder of what this journey is truly about. Their paths may intertwine more down the road, but even this first connection was profoundly meaningful.

Tanya’s act of bravery and generosity places her in a rare and extraordinary circle — a club reserved for lifesaving heroes. 🏅 The impact of her kidney will ripple forward through Jason’s family and through her recipient’s family for years to come.

As Thanksgiving approaches, there is so much to celebrate — healing, hope, and the extraordinary power of selfless giving.

A heartfelt thank-you to DOVE Transplant - Living Kidney Donation for Veterans for guiding and supporting donors and recipients every step of the way. 💙
